Why?

The event will bring together leaders and senior representatives of foundations and funders, the European Union institutions, other actors in civil society, and the general public to learn more about foundations and how they interact with various stakeholders. The exciting programme of activities includes an interactive fair, debates and discussions, providing a unique space for engagement.

Who?

The Week is open to everyone—from the general public to EU policy and decision makers to NGOs. For foundations, no matter whether you are a large or small foundation, working within one country or across borders, making grants or managing your own activities, the Foundation Week will be a chance to put foundations on the map and to get directly involved in pushing forward the debate on a diverse set of issues that are being addressed at the European level. The event will also engage:

  • EU policy and decision makers
  • The general public
  • National associations of donors
  • NGOs
  • Multilateral organisations
  • Think tanks
  • Other actors engaged with the foundation sector

Where?

The main venue for the Foundation Week will be ‘The Square’ – a newly-designed conference centre located in the museum district of Brussels, close to transport links and accommodation of all price ranges.
