medicine, building on both intense modeling and computational methods 
which are the driving forces behind the necessary interdisciplinary

    <description>The post-genomic era of biology is characterised by a deluge of molecular data about the cell. The challenge is to make sense out of this information by coming up with a new integrated picture of the cell (...).</description>

<p>Taking
on this challenge therefore requires the introduction of concepts
unfamiliar to biologists and the development of new ones. It also
requires specialists from across the sciences to learn each other's
language so as to collaborate effectively on defined projects.</p>

Thematic School "Modelling Complex Biological Systems in the
Context of Genomics" has been set up to help this research

                    clé dans la stratégie des entreprises de Biocitech,
                    tant au niveau de leur modèle économique et la
                    défense du monopole dans lequel elles se
                    développent, qu'au niveau de l'intervention des
                    investisseurs en fonds propres.</em></p>
<p align="justify"><em>La propriété industrielle est multiple et
                    ne se limite pas au dépôt de demandes de brevets,
                    mais comprend également, les dépôts de souches, les
                    obtentions végétales, les marques, les dessins et
                    modèles etc.</em></p>
<p align="justify"><em>Tout à la fois une arme offensive pour se
                    protéger, nouer des accords avec des tiers, la
                    propriété industrielle est également une arme
                    défensive pour empêcher les tiers de copier.</em></p>
<p align="justify"><em>Cependant, ces armes ne sont pas
                    définitives, elles peuvent être remises en cause et
                    doivent être actualisées en permanence.</em></p>
<p align="justify"><em>Dans ce contexte, cette Matinale a pour
                    objet de brosser le contexte général et les enjeux
                    (financiers, stratégiques, ...) de la propriété
                    industrielle et de croiser diverses expériences des
                    organismes de recherche publique, aux PME, ETI,
                    sociétés en création, ainsi que des expériences
                    couronnées de succès et d'échecs.</em></p>

La dé-construction de tels éléments permet d’obtenir des organismes vivants simplifiés qui pourraient ensuite être utilisés pour y greffer de nouvelles fonctions.</description>

<p><br />L'approche « Top-Down » de la Biologie Synthétique a produit de nombreux résultats. Par ailleurs, l’approche « Bottom-Up » consiste à concevoir des composants biologiques standardisés qui puissent être connectés de façon appropriée au sein d’organismes vivants pour y ajouter un comportement voulu. Une dernière approche consiste en l’utilisation de ces composants biologiques pour la construction de novo d’organismes dans un cadre acellulaire. Les avancées récentes sont aussi très encourageantes et permettent une meilleure compréhension de systèmes biochimiques complexes. Au cours de ce congrès, les meilleurs spécialistes mondiaux en Biologie Synthétique présenteront leurs dernières avancées.<br /><br />Les avancées en Biologie Synthétique s’accompagnent de la nécessité de définir de nouvelles règles de Propriété Intellectuelle. Le choix de ces règles jouera un rôle déterminant dans le devenir de la Biologie Synthétique. Une session sera consacrée à la Propriété Intellectuelle pour discuter de ces enjeux.<br /><br /></p>
